I caught a couple episodes of the new Teen Titans cartoon today. I like it. Lots of anime influence, but it doesn’t bother me like it does in some shows. The character designs and animation both get quality points.

Julie tells me she got her mom her first computer today (she’s been using Web TV for a while). Sounds like she got it all set up and working. Only thing left is getting the Internet access provider picked out and configured. I think Labor Day weekend is going to put a crimp in any attempts to do that, though.

Boy did I get drenched at Ultimate practice this afternoon. It was nice and cool and clear for a while. Then it started raining, and raining, and raining some more. We only had enough for 3-on-3 game.

I’ve finished with my work on Sunday’s newspaper, and am about to update the Web site stuff. Things went pretty smoothly tonight. Just briefs to edit, no big stories. Julie’s in Kentucky this weekend, visiting her mum — so it is just me and the pups for a couple days. We slept in a bit today, which is not ususual for Saturday, cause I like to get rested up for working late. I need to mow the yard tomorrow — just in two patches that grow fast, actually — so I hope I get my butt in gear.

Looks like the police caught the guy who broke into my friend D’s apartment. Police found him as he was stealing change out of cars and … yadda yadda yadda … he confessed to my friends’ burglary. Weird. I’m not holding my breath, but I hope they recover at least some of the stuff.

Some kid stabbed himself in the leg with a sword today. It was on the scanner. Turns out he was fine, pretty much … maybe a few stitches.

I was way sick yesterday (actually some symptoms started before the weekend). I had a fever, stiff neck, body aches, lots of sneezing, chills, weakness, disorientation — many of which are symptoms of West Nile. I still have the stiff neck a little bit. I just wanted to be unconscious so as not to feel horrible, so I slept all but maybe 5 hours between 11 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. I couldn’t believe the dogs slept almost the day, too.

I missed a meeting with some designers from our sister paper, Tuesday, which would have been nice to be at. I guess we have a lunchtime meeting tomorrow, that I get to/have to go to. Should get a nice lunch out of it (at Mugsy’s I believe), and maybe I’ll learn something too.

Did I ever tell you guys that my work is talked about in a textbook? I’ll have to find the jpegs of that and post them. Pretty neat, I think. This should be the first year that it this edition is used.

This is kinda funny/odd (though not for kids).
